i like how they say that johnny did all the work when all he did was take it to a tuning company and they did everything!

The price i think it would be about £4k or so, considering the engine mods were £2350!(price on their website btw)

ive driven one, it may sound great, and pull pretty hard, but the 4 cylinders handle WAY better, and i think a 16v can sound better than a vr6.

The HP difference is a lot as well!! If you haven’t driven a mk2 vr6 then you just can’t say that the 4cyl is superior… the only way i can describe it is the 16v on ROIDS. =) booouuwwhaaAAAA (sound of vr6-pulling away)

2 right mate ive got a vr and my mk2 kicked its *** round donington park brilliant track cars

mopar43v3r

June 22, 2009

200lb difference is alot since the vr is tilted forward 8 degreed and the normal 4 cylinder, be 8v or 16v is tilted back about 15….the 4 cylinder GLi’s and GTi’s are just superior track cars over a vr any day.

thats not the fastest mk 2 gti.. cos mine is as it as a audi tt engine tuned to give about 250 bhp!!

ofcourse not 16v is better for racing and if you want to cruise around den you could stay with an 8v engine

lower end torque is better. love my 8v. but i’ll probably change to another engine in 1 - 2 years time haha. =D

Are 8v GTI just as good as 16V ?

I would need to buy another car. I am speaking in terms of when this car, the car I know and have replaced everything on…develops catastrophic engine damage at over 200k or something…then I will consider converting to electric instead of burning fossil fuels

at least do it to a normal golf….not a GTI.

I disagree. If there is a good conversion, that will save me $ on gas, not require fuel filters, tune ups, oil changes, and can go 30 + miles between charges. I will do it. The handling, looks, interior, and charm combined with a low emissions transplant is a excellent combination for me. A Civic? No thanks. Too ho hum.
