Yes, downgrade cars …..meaning all the cars these days are big engines that eat gas, to make it worst, the whole car is heavy.

BMW is heavier, Nissan is heavier.

Very few companies stick to what works, which is light weight, small displacment performance cars. Porsche, Lotus, Honda has it right…..but honda don’t make no more performance cars.

Down grade? Are you sure you are looking into the specs more clearly? The downgrade is only in the name numbers! Companies are getting more efficient and can now put out the same or more power into a smaller package…like the R20 which is more powerful and faster than the R32!! So to answer your question, NO!

Does anybody seem to notice that most of the cars are down grading this year? I mean how do you go from R32 to R20 and also BMW is getting rid of the V8 M3 and making it a 6 inline again

Cant see it weighing much more than the 3.2ltr?? i know what you mean with the 2ltr being lighter and will no doubt have plenty of poke, but if you want somthing like that buy a gti. In my opinion the R’s are made to be different and exciting that’s why i would like to see/hear a v6 in there. what’s everyone elce’s opinions??

Because the engine weighs to much and ruins the handling. The r32 was far to nose heavy as it was.. Although i’d prefer an n/a engine the 2litre t makes alot more sense unfortunately.

Dont know why they dont just put the R36 engine in out of the passat. A tuning company have done it so why cant VW??

i wouldn’t make any speculations untill its been released officially guys, some people say its goingto be front wheel drive, others say there will be no golf r20 only the scirocco r20 etc vw is keeping the details really locked down!

actually the r20 is like the r32 the exhaust is dual and in the middle, the gti had dual exhaust on 1 saide but then they’re changing it to 1 on each side, which doesnt really make a diffrence

They should put the 5 cylinder turbo under the hood that the Audi TT RS has…tune it down a little and ship it to the states…we’ll take care of the rest.

Such a shame they’re not using the 3.2 V6 anymore! Its all down to these tree hugging hippies moaning about emissions. I don’t care how big the turbo is in this R20, it will never beat the sound from the V6.

Gti is faster and I mean a lot faster around a track than the 2008 WRX which had 232 hp. I doubt this one is much better.

MazdaSpeed 3 is no benchmark.

the golf, gti and r20 all have dual exhaust pipes, one on each side. if you mean exhaust note, well you cant hear much of anything so im going to say its a golf
