i think they got this list just right…
Tigers chip was an amaing shot but mise had such a tough shot with so many bad consequences if he missed an same with watson, if watson hadn’t completed bullseyed that shot, it would have gone like 15 ft by.

“Many guys could get lucky and hit a 1-iron flush.”
Hardly. Most pros won’t even carry a 1-iron.

Tiger hasn’t faced nearly the competition Nicklaus did throughout his career. Player, Thomson, Palmer, Trevino, Floyd, Watson, Ballesteros, many others were all far better than anyone Tiger has ever had to face.

“Tiger will pass him if he stays healthy.”
Maybe, maybe not. He still has to DO IT. He’ll have to win 21 or more to convince most experts, who recognize Jack’s superior competition.

#3 should’ve been #1 but #2 was very nice. #1 doesn’t look like a #1 or sound like it.

According to Jack Nicklaus himself, ‘Tiger plays a game with which I am not familiar.’ Nicklaus wan’t lying. Tiger hits the ball higher, more accurately and stops it faster on the green than any human being on a consistent basis. Plus he makes every putt within 8 feet when he’s on his game. No one in earth’s history could stay within 6 shots of Tiger if he is truly playing at his peak.

It is impossible to judge the best shot. What’s more important is who can hit the most good shots, and that’s what major championships measure. Many guys could get lucky and hit a 1-iron flush. But only Jack Nicklaus won 18 majors and Tiger will pass him if he stays healthy.

Correct, ended up missing out by missing a vital putt which meant the open had to be decided by a play off between him and Stewart Cink.

It was sudden death playoff to win the tournement. mize 3rd shot was this chip. norman had the way better position on the green for his 3rd shot.

I think it’s on 2 because of 2 things: It was (again) greg norman who lost because of an amazing shot by his opponent, and 2… I mean come on it’s a chip from 110 y on augusta!

BCKLW, My man. as usual I agree with everything you say.

1. Nicklaus’ 1 riron
2 Nicklaus’ Shot at 16 in the 86 Masters
3.Nicklaus’ putt at 16 in the 1975 masters
4. Nicklaus’ eagle putt 15th hole in 86
5. Nicklaus’ drive at the 18th hole 1970 British Open at ST. Andrews.

That is my list

I am old and my memory does fade, but did not Dimarco have a 6 shot lead on Tiger goining into the last two rounds. I think rain had backed things up and at the end of the third round Tiger was up by three because Dimarco shot a 74 Dimarco did close well but I never felt that Tiger was in danger of losing.

I am not picking on you SmallDanny but Dimarco had the Tournament won had he played halve way decent but he gave shot after shot to Tiger then when he was down he started playing better but at no time did I feel Tiger was going to lose you may have felt some drama but I did not. Dimarco could not hold the lead and spit it back up to Tiger and everyone knew were I was Tiger was going to win.

The thing is BCKLW what you have just said about that Masters is complete garbage. Im sorry but the situation was completely the opposite of how you describe it. Dimarco had gone back from 4 behind, he holed a massive putt on 11, hit it right next to the pin on 14 and did the same on 15. He then hit a good tee shot on 16 to about 15ft. A two shot swing looked inevitable. The momentum was going completely against Tiger and it looked like he was absolutely going to lose it.

One of the things that takes away from Tiger’s shot is at no time did I feel Tiger was going to lose the Tournament. Dimarco was folding up tent faster then a firecracker salesmen on the 5th of July and the fact that Tiger went on to bogey the last two holes. It was an emotional moment but id did not feel heroic lIke Tom and Larry’s chips or Nicklaus’ tee shots at 16 and 17 and a double eagle to tie for the lead? I mean come on.

SmallDanny dont you ever stop? Tiger shot was not number one. Nicklaus’ I iron was a better shot. The saying goes ”If ever you are in a lightning storm, hold up a one iron because not even God can hit a one iron. Jack Nicklaus could hit a one iron.” The greatest shot might have been the double eagle. Who makes double eagle. Mize’s shot was better.

1. Sarazens’ double eagle
2. Mize’s chip at 17
3. Tom Watson’s chip at 17 to top Jack
4. Nicklaus’ 1 iron
5. Nicklaus’ shot at 16 in 86
