Shawn, thanks. I feel like I’ve watched just about all the golf tips on youtube and your videos are consistently the best. Great job and thanks again.

to keep the foot rolled in, put a skate guard over your shoe… works great!! (not as dangerous as wearing a skate)

yes; for a standard chip and pitch which is what I do; this is a great technique and or drill for those who have issues with not being able to stay against their forward leg; stay with what suits you best;

I swear in your other chip video you said to to drop the front foot back and have the ball back from centre!

I HIGHLY recommend purchasing Shawn’s DVD. All of the questions that you have are extensively explored in it. Also, most of Shawn’s You Tube videos use terminologies and techniques that are in the DVD, making it the ULITIMATE reference when watching these videos on You Tube. I hope this helps.

Ball stays centered when braced against the left side; for short chip shots of 5 to 10 feet we are looking at lob wedge for all of the above; see “Golf Pro Lesson very short chip shot”, “golf pro lesson uphill chip shot”, “Golf Pro Lesson downhill pitch over bunker” and “golf pro lesson chip yips”; my DVD series in disc 3 has all these executed as well as all the short sided situations you would encounter on the course; I would highly recommend it! When sending momentum to the left of the target, there is a natural hold off of the club face which is very instinctive; see the “Golf Pro Lesson alignment tweak” video; when performing long chip shots, I focus on using the “lower case y” of the arm-club unit to create the necessary momentum to execute the shot and allow my body to turn and return out of the way in both directions from a centered position around my forward side which makes it very easy to maintain the integrity of the unit…

The best is the fiberbuilt mat; you can google Tartan Turf…

P.S. What would your ball placement be in these different scenarios? I need your guidance Shawn!

What degree wedges would you use for these scenarios, im having a hard time figuring out which to use and what shot? maybe this would be a good video to make. strategy around the green. which EVERYONE from all levels could really really benefit from.

1)around the green like 5-10 feet
2)severe uphill/downhill 5-10 feet
3)chipping

Shawn, are you holding the face open in the follow through to get some loft to the shot? I am working on a flip shot, letting the let wrist colapse through inpact to impart spin and loft to the shot. Opposite of the normal braced left wrist chip shot. I see pros like Phil using this method even on pitch shots 80-100 yards from the green. Any tips on this shot?

Hi Shawn

Must share this.

Been practicing your instructions indoors and just played first time in weeks. It was amazing. Reached several fairway bunkers first time ever and played out with hybrid amazing distance. Short game and putting also great.

Why? I was able to use feel and imagination like never before and experienced that lovely swat sound using a practice swing for the first time.

Thanks for making a long time hacker very happy.

Great vid Shawn. Recalling the same gravity momentum from the full swing and using it with chipping and pitching, will really help to prevent armsy unilateral swings in the short game.
